Study audio overview – 2010

When you register you can select either "audio CD set" (for standard CD player) or "data CD" (for computer, ipod, etc).

Those requesting audio CDs will receive 2 CDs, and will need to use these track number lists: Soprano   Alto   Tenor   Bass

For those using a data CD, navigating should be self explanatory. Remember that for the songs that have announced tracks the announcements are usually in short tracks by themselves.

Reminder that much of this music is rented and should be treated gently, with only pencil markings that can be erased later.

As you can see there are a lot of split parts this year. In studying feel free to concentrate on the part with the range you feel most comfortable with, although at rehearsal some singers may need to switch parts to get equal balance.

Parry - I was Glad

Licensed from SongLearning Systems. Tracks are announced. This piece is SSAATTBB. All sections split.

Emlen/Stookey - Twenty-third Psalm

Created by David Schildkret. Tracks are not announced. Featured part uses piano voice. This piece is SATB. The first movement is soloists only. The choir begins on the second movement. A Tutti version is also included so we can hear how it sounds without any parts emphasized.

Vaughan Williams - Five Mystical Songs

Licensed from SongLearning Systems. Tracks are announced. This piece is SATB.

Handel - Zadok the Priest

Licensed from SongLearning Systems. Tracks are announced. This piece is SSAATBB. All sections split except tenor. The split parts are announced in the audio.

Zimmermann - Psalmkonzert

Created by David Schildkret. Tracks are not announced. Featured part uses piano voice. This piece is SSATB. Soprano study audio CDs will include both Soprano parts. Alto study audio CDs will include the Soprano II part, since higher altos should be able to sing it. The last movement has both a "slow" version for initial learning, as well as a "fast" version which is approximately the tempo we'll be performing it. A Tutti version is also included so we can hear how it sounds without any parts emphasized.

Bernstein - Chichester Psalms

Licensed from SongLearning Systems. Tracks are announced. The first section of movement 1 (referred to as 1A) is SSAATTBB (all sections split). The remainder of movement 1 as well as the rest of the piece is SATB. The split parts are announced in the audio.
