Mount Desert Summer Chorale

Special Events for 2010






This summer, the Mount Desert Summer Chorale is hosting a number of special choral music events and activities in addition to our 2010 summer concerts. These events are supported in part by a generous community grant from the Hattie A. & Fred C. Lynam Trust.

Open Reading of Verdi's Requiem
Sunday July 11, 7pm
  at St. Mary's-by-the-Sea in Northeast Harbor.

    Come and enjoy singing this inspiring work with a large group in the beautiful St. Mary's-by-the-Sea sanctuary. MDSC Music Director David Schildkret will lead. Scores will be provided, but feel free to bring your own score if you have one. No experience necessary. Open to anyone in the general public who would like to participate. One evening only.


Vocal Master Class
Monday July 19, 7:30pm
  at St. Mary's-by-the-Sea in Northeast Harbor.
    Area high school and college-age singers will perform, and guest artist Carole FitzPatrick will comment. The public is invited to this evening of vocal solos, giving extraordinary insight into the learning process and development of artistry for singers.


Recital – Carole FitzPatrick, soprano
Friday July 23, 8pm
  at St. Mary's-by-the-Sea in Northeast Harbor.
    Renowned soprano Carole FitzPatrick presents a vocal recital with MDSC accompanist Clayton W. Smith.



And, don't forget the Summer Chorale's 2010 concerts on August 7 and 8, 8pm, at St Saviour's in Bar Harbor.
